A CWS Research/Defend Texas Liberty PAC poll shows former President Donald Trump with a significant lead in the hypothetical 2024 Texas Republican primary race.
The poll showed Trump leading the pack with 43 percent support. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was a distant second with 27 percent support. No other candidate has come close, with presidential candidate Nikki Haley coming in third with 5 percent support, followed by Senator Ted Cruz and former Vice President Mike Pence, who each have 4 percent support.
Anti-wake businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who has also officially joined the presidential race, has 2% support, while Senator Tim Scott and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo have 1% support each.
In all, 13% are undecided.
The poll marks a boost for Trump and a decline for DeSantis in the Lone Star State over the past two months.
In January, Trump and DeSantis were close, with 36 percent approval and 35 percent support, respectively. In other words, Trump has gained by seven points, and DeSantis has seen her lose eight points since the January poll.

Furthermore, a survey of Emerson College released This month showed Trump with a 41-point lead over prospective primary field New Hampshire.
