In The Carer of the Year (sponsored by Parklands Care Homes), couples James Beard and Janice Duggan, Anna and Alan Doty and Bradley Macmillan are nominated as finalists.
James and Janice, who run the Loch Park Rural Skills Center in Drummuir, go above and beyond to provide support and care for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
For more than 30 years, Dyke couple Anna and Alan have been opening their home and hearts to children. Over the years, they have fostered more than 50 children, raising them as their own families.
The Elgin teen, Bradley, was shortlisted for the constant care he gives his mother and brother. Mom Cheryl suffers from chronic back pain which severely limits what she can do while DiNeol’s brother (8) has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD.
You can find out more about all the nominees in the Moray and Banffshire Heroes supplement.
