A very simple play turned out somewhat between the Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.
Marcus Smart and Tra Young wrestled to the floor after exchanging words.
The struggle came with less than 90 seconds left in the match. Young drew a foul from Smart on the basket.
However, Young appeared to give an extra kick toward Smart’s groin on the layup, and the two began to move back and forth.

The words were said to each other for several seconds before removing. Young then pointed at Smart near his eyes.
Smart was taken out, while Young received a tech.
Referee Shaun Wright said Smart was sent off for “grabbing and knocking Tray Young”, while Young was technically assessed for the point in Smart’s face.

“His actions did not amount to expulsion,” Wright said said the youth.
No punches were thrown during the skirmish, which was broken up by everyone on the court.
