Ange Postecoglou saddles Celtic and Rangers away from fan bans

The Celtic boss stated that he was not fully aware of the intricacies of the situation but was aware of the derby’s decision.

Herald He revealed exclusively that there will be no away fans at Ibrox or Celtic Park for the remaining matches between the clubs this season.

After discussions between the clubs, it was decided that the matches would be fans only at home for at least the remainder of this period.

It is understood that the decision to ban fans has now been taken in order to save time to find solutions to sort out the different arrangements at both stadiums.

Postecoglou has been questioned about his decision on the derby fans’ decision following his team’s win over Hibs at Parkhead on Saturday.

He told Sky Sports: “I’m not fully aware of all the details. I’m sure the club is dealing with that.

“I’ve said in the past that I think that makes for a better scene (with extraterrestrial audiences).

“This decision has been made, I believe, with all the information available.”

The Celtic boss then pointed to the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final between Glasgow rivals as an occasion to look forward to two and a half in support.

He added, “The nice thing about it is we got a 50-50 match at Hampden. Let’s look forward to that.”

On winning the league over Hibs, Postecoglou commented: “It felt like a bit of a chaotic game, there was a lot going on on and off the field.

“Especially in the first half, we couldn’t get any kind of rhythm or fluency and impose ourselves on the game as we wanted to. Having said that, we created some great chances. I mean David Marshall made a couple of great saves and hit the crossbar.

“But I thought we handled it better in the second half, we kept our cool, we kept our composure, we had an impact when we needed to and the players coming in helped get the result.”
